Bro.
Shawn Nichols was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. A son of faithful
Christian parents and grandson of well-known Baptist preacher and evangelist,
Dr. Avery Rogers, he has
been grounded
on a firm foundation of the Word since childhood.
Even greater, at the age of
eight the Lord convicted him of sin, and in obedience Bro. Shawn repented and
placed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He graduated
in 1993 with a BBA in Business Administration from
Baylor University, and while there he met his lovely wife, Tina. With the Lord
impressing upon him a burden to preach the gospel, in 1996 Bro. Shawn responded
and went on to gain a Bachelor of Theology from
Trinity Valley Baptist
Seminary & College.
In 1998 Bro. Shawn was
led to Parkwood Baptist Church to serve as Assistant Pastor under the preaching
and teaching ministry of
Bro. Mark
Thrift. Bro. Shawn accepted the Pastorate of Bayou Drive Baptist Church in
July 2004 where he currently serves. He and his wife, Tina, live and minister in
Alvin and the greater Houston area with their three children.
