The Lohen González Family
August 2010
Dear Brethren in Christ,
We praise our Lord because we can depend and wait on Him
by faith. God is never late to answer. He always is on
time. We have absolute confidence that He will do
everything in His time and according to His perfect
will. Psalm 33:20, 21 says, “Our soul waiteth for the
Lord: He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall
rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy
name.” And he adds in vs. 22, “Let thy mercy, O Lord, be
upon us, according as we hope in thee.” In days of so
much impatience, in which we want everything quickly, we
need to learn to wait on God, and that He is always
working for our good.
One of the ways we can see the Lord working is through
His Word, in which we wholeheartedly trust. It has power
to strengthen, to nourish, and to act in the lives of
the believers. Above all it is a joy to see the effect
that the Word has on the lives of those that are
recently born again. We know that the enemy is active,
seeking to snatch away the Word that was planted and
trying to place any distraction in the way in order to
lose interest in it. But we believe, as I Peter 5:10
says, that the God of all grace, He himself, will
perfect, establish, strengthen and settle us for the
honor and glory of God.
The ladies of our church get together every Thursday to
study the Word. My wife, Becky, is doing a good work
with them. On the 20th and 21st of August, they are
planning a Retreat, and the theme is: “Created to be a
Help Meet”. There are 35 ladies signed up and some of
these women don’t know the Lord as their Savior. So we
ask for prayer that The Lord will touch their hearts and
transform their lives. May the Lord give us better
marriages and homes for Christ.
We have been presented with the opportunity to obtain a
piece of land through the City Hall of San Bernardo
where, if the Lord wills, we could build His church in
the place where He has put us. Along with this
tremendous blessing and great door that the Lord is
opening for us, we also have the burden and need to be
able to count on the necessary resources to do so. We
pray so that, if in any way God places in your heart to
help us, and in this way show the City Hall that we have
enough funds to begin the construction, we will be very
grateful for your participation in this great work.
Please send any help through our local church, Bayou
Drive Baptist Church, or communicate directly with our
pastor, Bro. Shawn Nichols in Texas. We would appreciate
very much your prayers on this behalf.
We would like for you to pray also for the 18th of
September, which is the Independence Day of Chile. Every
year we get together as churches and we have this
special day of fellowship. We use this opportunity to
share the Gospel with family and friends who do not know
Christ as their Savior. Pray that God will reach them
through the preaching of His word.
We want to thank God, once again, for your prayers and
offerings which we receive with joy and gratitude.
In Christ,
