Michael was saved at the early age of 5. He was raised in church and remembers sitting in a service realizing he was a sinner and in need of Jesus' work in his life.
Michael does not remember a time not being in church, and recalls the struggles of wrestling with God's call for his life. It wasn't until after high school that Michael surrendered his life to preaching of the gospel. Michael began fulfilling that calling as youth minister at Central Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. In 2001, he moved to the Houston area to work with children and youth in Santa Fe Baptist Church. In 2015 God led Michael to Bayou Drive Baptist Church to work with youth.
After moving to Santa Fe, he married Betsy in 2004. They have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. Spending time with his wife and children is important to Michael and when not with them he enjoys being able to play sports (mostly basketball). Shortly after being married, Michael was ordained to the preaching of the gospel.
In 2008, Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston - Clear Lake in History. He has worked as an electrician and through this background was able to move into building controls. He works in the field of Energy Management for the local school district.
